  3. What a great video.

Hey, KB...how 'bout a "tissue warning" next time. I'm at WORK for cryin' out loud!

    Thanks for sharing it.

  4. I could only watch part of this. I am happy for those people. It just felt like bumper-sticker Christianity. It made me sad for all those who watched and didn't have Jesus show up despite their faith, despite their years of prayer. And I felt bad for the first widow when no one clapped for her. I had to stop when it came to the Christianese, Washed in the Blood. It reminded me of being at a wedding, where the pastor spoke of the couple being washed in the Blood. I heard people around me gasp in horror and disgust. I saw the looks on their faces. Obviously they did not speak Christianese, let alone know anything about Revelation 7.

I know that everyone who stood their with their little signs was sincerely grateful for what God has done in their life. But the insensitivity of the format made me cringe. Sorry to be so negative, when it meant so much to others. I probably should just keep my mouth shut.

  5. Wow. I got a whole different impression than Gary did. I was touched and humbled by the presentation.

    Again, thank you for sharing.

  6. I see where you are coming from Gary.. knowing the stories behind the cardboard gave me a different perspective.

That said.. I do wish that we in the church did talk so much in code.

  7. Bob, I think it was just that I had a really hard time with the format. If I had the privilege of hearing more of the story of each of these sign-bearing believers, I'm sure that I would be praising God for His goodness. I probably would shed a tear or two as well. But as a stranger, these had little more impact than a bumper sticker on a passing vehicle.

I also tend to be a little overly sensitive on behalf of those who seek God, but do so from somewhere in the wilderness, where God seems silent, indifferent, or even totally absent. I still have dust on my sandals.
