These are the days when we need to find that contentment Paul speaks of.. it will bring us to a place of joy and peace.kc bobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17440862813109808755noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9665353.post-69270246767936431262008-04-13T00:14:00.000-05:002008-04-13T00:14:00.000-05:00"This kind of endurance matures us like nothing el..."This kind of endurance matures us like nothing else will." Sometimes I want to say, "God, wouldn't a little less maturity do just as well?" I was moaning along those lines to a friend one day as we walked into a Christian bookstore. The first book I picked up (and I'm not making this up) was But Lord, I Was Happy Shallow. :)

More seriously, thank you for the reminder that "our hope is not wrapped up in this life". That makes a difference in how I persevere, in where I devote my energies, as well as how desperately I fight for self preservation. Perseverance is very different, I think, from a demand (on myself, on God, or on others) for self preservation.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9665353.post-53088927899566188532008-04-12T23:43:00.000-05:002008-04-12T23:43:00.000-05:00I know a lot about perseverance.Being in ICU for a...I know a lot about perseverance.
Being in ICU for a month, then going through occupational therapy, and physical therapy. All of us can attest to that!
SusanSusanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11360047123820906113noreply@blogger.com
